Get Involved
We are in need of resourceful, energetic board of directors who are excited and passionate on helping people. GRHU is made up of a diverse group of people who share the common belief to see refugees living with hope again. Whether you think you can make a big difference or just help in anyway, we value each person!
Mission Trip March 2019
We hope you will join us on our next mission trip in March 2019. The experience will be life changing and there is plenty of work to do among refugees in Uganda. This time we are planning to work at our sponsor children's school, participate in meal preparations for our nutrition program, preach the Word of God, and visit refugee families.
-
You will encounter God’s heart. Our God is big and He cares about all people. He’s a global God. And His ultimate goal is to gather a family that represents “every tribe and tongue and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9). When you step into a foreign mission field, you will sense God’s amazing compassion for another culture and you will begin to know Him as Lord of the harvest.
-
You will expand your limited perspective. Too many of us are stuck in spiritual ruts. Even servants of God can get bored with the sameness of ministry in one community. Every now and then you need to step out of your comfort zone and allow God to stretch you. Experience how other Christians worship God with fervor. Recognize that the way we do ministry in the western world is not necessarily the only way. And expect to learn from the people you are going to minister to.
-
You will build lasting partnerships. God gives us this strong bond so we will link arms and work for a common purpose across cultural lines.
-
You will be become more grateful. I receive an attitude adjustment every time I go to Uganda - especially when I visit the poorest of the poor in Uganda (refugees). I come back from my trips with a renewed appreciation for life’s little blessings—air conditioning, shoes, running water, nice roads and flush toilets. There’s nothing like witnessing the joy the refugees get when they receive what here we call 'small' here in North America.
